Spanish Windmills

The land between Madrid and Salamanca
prides itself of da Vincian beauty
Where man harnesses the power of nature
and beholds it in the landscape.
The windmills pierce into the clouds
so that life my continue uninterrupted
as long as the wind continues to blow.
Like Greek gods or Kachinas of the west
they stand taller than anything in sight.
But here there are other myths
of windmills in La Mancha
who pose as mythical giants
to the dreamer.
